What Had He Done?
She stood on Calvary’s hill so high
With eyes uplifted to the sky.
Her sight revealed her only Son.
He hung upon the cross,
But what had He done?
Nails were placed in His hands and feet,
A crown of thorns He wore on His head.
A lance had pierced His side so deep.
She knew this figure was dead,
But what had He done?
Sadness and sorrow filled the heart
Of this mother who beheld her Son.
He died on the cross for the sins of man,
But what had He done?
